Ryan W Chiu, MD

Dr. Ryan W. Chiu is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible cardiothoracic surgeon with the MemorialCare Medical Group in Long Beach.

His clinical interests include aortic disease and coronary artery disease with an interest in minimally invasive procedures for aortic pathology and heart valve disease.

He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and did his residency in general surgery at Stony Book University Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Chiu is board-eligible in cardiothoracic surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

His interest in aortic disease stems from the vast pathologies and different manifestations involved. He is actively involved with educating consumers and physicians on the breadth of conditions – aortic aneurysms (ascending aorta, arch, or descending aorta), aortic dissection (type A, type B) – and treatments available.

Dr. Chiu enjoys the great outdoors and skis, hikes, and golfs in his free time.
