Minhthao T Nguyen, DO

Dr Minhthao Nguyen studied medicine at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, chosen for its mission statement to improve the delivery of healthcare to those in underserved areas. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, and completed her fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of California, Davis at UCD-Health in Sacramento, California. 

Throughout her medical journey, Dr. Nguyen has worked with patients of all different stages of life and backgrounds, from the West Coast to the East Coast. She treats them with the same compassionate and individualized care for all. Dr. Nguyen sees patients as individuals with specific problems, not as a disease state. She listens carefully to their concerns, and is committed to finding the best treatment option for them, making sure nothing is missed during the diagnosis and treatment, and making sure they leave the clinic having their questions and concerns addressed while maintaining high-value care for all. 

She specifically chose to specialize in endocrinology, because she enjoys caring for the whole person and help manage their chronic diseases so they can give the best quality of life they can even with their current disease processes. 

She treats all aspects of endocrinology, including all hormonal issues, diabetes, obesity, bone and osteoporosis. She has a special interest in adrenal diseases, PCOS, and pituitary diseases.

Although she focuses on clinical practice, she previously published original research on PCOS in the high-impact journals Diagnostics and the Journal of the Endocrine Society. She's also published and presented multiple poster presentations at local and regional conferences. 

Dr. Nguyen works both in clinic and at UCI Fountain Valley and Orange Coast Memorial Hospitals to provide comprehensive care both in the outpatient and acute settings.

Outside of medicine, she is a bookworm who enjoys tinkering with computers and technology, building mechanical keyboards, reading novels, knitting/crocheting, and trying out new cuisines at restaurants and different boba teas.
