About Me
Marshall Gillette, M.D., completed his Residency in Family Medicine and Fellowship in Palliative Care & Hospice at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) before coming to MemorialCare Long Beach Memorial Center to be the Medical Director of Adult Palliative Care. This includes a full-time position on the hospital-based palliative care service, as well as caring for patients in the Palliative Care Clinic at the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute.
Dr. Gillette has been involved in clinical research through The Patient Voice in Goals of Care, a project focused on improving communication between patients and their medical teams about their values and priorities of care. He also built a Palliative Care Curriculum for the UCLA Family Medicine Residency during his Fellowship and now educates Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Residents during their rotation with the Palliative Care Program at Long Beach Medical Center.
