About Me
David W. Dorfman, MD is a highly trained and skilled plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast and body. He is committed to providing the best and most natural results. From the first moment his patients come in for a consultation, Dr. Dorfman works with them to develop a plan that best suits their individual goals. He is a devoted surgeon who provides a warm and compassionate patient experience.
Dr. Dorfman trained for 15 years after finishing his undergraduate education. He obtained a degree in psychobiology at the University of California-Los Angeles and then stayed to complete his degree in dentistry. He went on to finish medical school at the University of California-Davis. Following that, he completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of San-Francisco, subsequently obtaining board-certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He obtained further training in general surgery from the University of California-San Francisco and completed his full residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California-Davis. Dr. Dorfman ended his surgical training with a fellowship in craniofacial surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at Stanford University.
Throughout his multiple residencies, he trained with world-renowned surgeons who taught him the most advanced and cutting edge techniques. Because of his diverse surgical experience, he is able to evaluate his patients and determine what treatments will best match their desires and needs, whether it is for aesthetic, craniofacial or reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Dorfman volunteered his time as a Stryker Fellow for Operation Smile, a charitable organization dedicated to performing cleft lip and palate surgery in low and middle-income countries. He’s performed surgery for impoverished children in Mexico, Nicaragua, and India. Locally, he also treats children and adults with complex cleft and craniofacial problems.
After many years of training, Dr. Dorfman and his wife Rachel are happy to be back in Orange County. Being natives of Orange County, both are excited at the opportunity to raise their children in their hometown. Dr. Dorfman is also honored to be practicing plastic surgery where he calls home.
