About Me

Dr. Daniel Dearing is a triple boarded vascular and endovascular surgeon and a proud Fellow of the American College of Surgeons who joined South OC surgeons in May of 2015. He specializes in medical and advanced surgical treatments for a broad range of arterial and venous diseases.

Dr. Dearing is an Oklahoma native who matriculated at the University of Oklahoma for undergrad where he received both Dean’s list and Presidents list honors, graduating with the distinction of the OU Award of Excellence of Scholarship. He continued his Medical Education at OU Medical College until graduation in 2004. Dr. Dearing then migrated westward and completed his surgical residency at the prestigious Huntington Memorial program, an affiliate of USC Keck School of Medicine, where he was recognized for his awards winning research.

Exploring his deep interest in Critical Care he completed the coveted Critical Care fellowship at Cedars Sinai in 2010 and achieved board certification in 2011. Following a deeper passion for vascular surgery he then completed a second fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at West Virginia University under the tutelage of his nationally recognized mentor Dr. A. F. AbuRahma. During his advanced vascular education he was privileged to author and publish multiple national journal articles as well as a book chapter on combat trauma. Having completed his fellowship, he returned to Southern California and worked in a private practice group serving multiple hospitals. He is responsible for bringing cutting edge and advanced vascular technologies to several facilities during his tenure in Riverside County prior to coming to South OC surgeons. Additionally, he exercised his leadership ability as a member of Surgical Quality, Critical Care, and the Ethics committees.

Dr. Dearing has performed thousands of general, vascular, and advanced endovascular procedures over the last seven years. He is excited to bring his clinical acumen and passion for medicine to his South Orange County patients, believing that every patient should be cared for as if they were family.

When not operating, Dr. Dearing enjoys family time with his wife and young son as well as playing the guitar, hiking, and fishing. He can also be seen at the local ski slopes and Laguna Batting cages.
