About Me
Christopher S. Carlin, MD, studied medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and went on to complete a dermatology residency.
His father, who is a physician in Laguna Hills, has had a great influence on his life and career. At a young age, Dr. Carlin became intrigued with helping others through his father’s example, as he constantly shared his love of medicine and patient care with his family. Dr. Carlin would spend his high school and summers in college as a font office specialist and medical assistant at his father’s office.
Dr. Carlin enjoys dermatology because it allows him to practice many aspects of medicine he loves – being able to intervene as a surgeon, investigate as an internist, treat children as a pediatrician, delve microscopically as a pathologist, and discover as a scientist.
Caring for my patients’ needs and concerns is the most important aspect of what I do as a physician. I love to see the joy in others as we improve a skin condition or cure a skin cancer. I want to make every patient happy and comfortable. I try my best to serve each patient to the best of my ability.
Dr. Carlin grew up in Mission Viejo and graduated from Capistrano Valley High School. He attended college at UC San Diego and Brigham Young University. He also served a two-year service mission in Mexico and can speak Spanish. Outside of medicine, Dr. Carlin enjoys surfing, coaching his 3 sons, playing basketball and volleyball, mountain biking, and hiking with his wife and family.
