About Me

Dr. Cedric "Jamie" Rutland, a pulmonary and critical care physician based in Southern California, received his medical degree and completed residency in internal medicine from the University Of Iowa Carver College Of Medicine in Iowa City, IA. He continued to pursue his education at the University Of Kansas Medical Center specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He is specially trained in endobronchial ultrasound "EBUS" in addition to bronchoscopy.

Dr. Rutland serves Orange County under West Coast Lung. His clinical expertise is focused on the evaluation of difficult cases in pulmonary immunology including interstitial lung disease, severe asthma and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

As assistant clinical professor at the University of California Riverside, Dr. Rutland takes pride in training and mentoring students, nurses and residents assigned to the multiple hospitals he covers.

In order to create a strong doctor-patient relationship, Dr. Rutland spear-headed "Medicine Deconstructed," a YouTube channel designed to deliver a variety of medical topics in a manner more easily understood by those with a new medical diagnosis or not accustomed to medical terminology.

Dr. Rutland is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine & Pulmonary Medicine.
