Annelise Merriner, PA-C

Annelise Merriner, MSPA, PA-C has a close family connection that motivated her to seek a career in health care, particularly in women’s services. “When I was younger, I decided on a career in medicine because of my sister who was born with a rare genetic disorder and needed constant medical care,” Annelise says. “Being exposed to this as a young person, I always wanted to have a better understanding of medical processes. In addition, having a family member experiencing a chronic condition made me want to help other patients, just as my sister had been helped. Since becoming a physician assistant (PA), I have worked in internal medicine but settled on women's health and wellness as my chosen specialty. I greatly enjoy being able to help other women.”

Annelise grew up near Santa Cruz, California and graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition science. She completed her Master of Science in physician assistant studies at Keiser University in Fort Lauderdale.

Annelise is a certified physician assistant and has over ten years of clinical experience, with eight of those years focused in the field of gynecology. She is passionate about women’s health and caring for women.

“I am known be really thorough, whether it is looking at previous records or reviewing your diagnosis with you,” she states. “I have a great deal of experience with infertility, menopause, hormone replacement therapy, urinary leakage, pelvic prolapse, pelvic floor disorders, and women's wellness. I get great personal satisfaction knowing that I have helped someone. Sometimes that may be as simple as taking extra time with a patient.”

In her free time, Annelise enjoy crafting. “I spend a lot of free time knitting or sewing,” she says. “I also like to take ballet classes and walking, and love to see plays and musicals.”
