The Women's Hospital at Saddleback Medical Center offers an in-person breastfeeding class taught by a Certified Lactation Nurse.

The class covers essential skills for successful breastfeeding, including:

  • Newborn breastfeeding expectations
  • Benefits for both mother and baby
  • Proper positioning and latch techniques
  • Tips for increasing comfort and confidence
  • How to determine if your baby is getting enough milk
  • Basic pumping information
  • Available resources

Expectant mothers are encouraged to attend with a support person, and each participant must register individually. Breastfeeding Basics is designed for adults and is ideally taken during the third trimester of pregnancy.
